Want to find the cheapest hotel deals in Thai beach resorts?
Contact the guarantee hotels through this site. We identify hotels that GUARANTEE, in writing, to discount below the best rates advertised online for guests who book directly with the hotel. Cutting out agents saves the hotel money, and some – those we list – promise to pass some of the savings back to guests.
If there are no Guarantee hotels currently in Rayong, go to the Thailand map page for the full list. Next year we will have many more hotels on more beaches. We put guests in direct contact with the hotel, and take no commission.
Note that we also sell DISCOUNT ROOM VOUCHERS, the very cheapest rooms available on Thai beaches. Follow the links, or contact Jade for advice: email@example.com

Rayong; a weekend escape for Thai families from Bangkok, now discovered by a few foreign tourists
Rayong is a beach destination with a distinct Thai flavour, particularly on weekends when thousands of Bangkok people flee the city for the beachfront hotels and condos scattered widely along this coast. And for the seafood restaurants and markets at Laem Mae Pim. During the weekdays the beaches along this coast are almost deserted, save for small numbers of foreigners who like the local flavour and relative tranquillity. Each high season sees quite a few European retirees take up a residence for few months in the condos and beach hotels here, to escape the northern winter. Foreigners have begun buying condos along this coast, something they can do legally and securely.
All three beaches to the west of Mae Pim are quiet right through the week, Saturdays and Sundays included, seeing only a small surge of Thai families at weekends. This whole coast is sparsely inhabited, and there are still kilometres of beachfront land lying idle. It makes for quiet beach walks and tranquillity for the small number of visitors here.
Many of Rayong's small resorts are family-run and thus very friendly, if not so professional. Prices are quite low compared to other Thai beach destinations.
The Rayong countryside behind the beaches is largely agricultural, but not very rich. There is some scrappy bushland here, but nothing like tropical rainforest. The beaches are mediocre at best, with none of the stunning tropical beauties found on the Gulf islands or in the Andaman Sea. All of the coastline in the upper Gulf of Thailand is rather flat and monotonous, and the water is not always clear. But what Rayong's beaches lack in spectacular looks they make up – in some visitors' estimation – in peace and tranquillity. And also benefit from the generous mood of Thai village hospitality.
Rayong has one active, fun beach that pulsates each weekend as thousands of Bangkok escapees descend on it to gobble up seafood while their children frolic on the beach. This is Laem Mai Pim, the eastern-most beach, and site of the biggest seafood centre on these beaches. There are markets selling both fresh and dried seafood and a chain of dozens of beach restaurants sandwiched between road and beach. There are also many 'weekend-only' restaurants set into the sand below a sky-blocking ceiling of beach umbrellas. Thai groups and families spend hours eating, relaxing and sometimes sleeping the afternoons away in the deep shade here, bare feet in the sand.
